Obituary

DENSON, Nimrod Davis III, a long time resident of Miami, born September 11, 1921 to Nimrod Davis Denson, Jr. and Elizabeth Rush Denson in Opelika, Alabama, died October 2, 2017 at the age of 96. Nimrod attended Auburn University before serving in the US Army Air Corps. He was trained as a pilot in World War ll.  After returning from the service he graduated from the University of Miami. In 1947, Nimrod was hired by Pan American Airlines. He flew with Pan American for thirty-five years, retiring as a 747 captain in 1981.

Nimrod is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Susan Walker Denson. He is survived by his three daughters Susan Denson O’Malley (Daniel), Caroline Denson, Davis Anne Denson Allmand (Jim), seven grandchildren: Danny O’Malley, Katie O’Malley Whitaker, Diana Tucker Goad, Susan Tucker, Robbins Taylor, Caroline Taylor and Davis Taylor and six great grandchildren.

There will be a private celebration of his life. In honor of Nimrod Denson’s life donations can be made to Plymouth Congregational Church, 3400 Devon Road, Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida 33133
