Matthew "Tom" Bulfin

Obituary

Matthew Thomas “Tom” Bulfin, 55, passed away Saturday, May 6, after a brief but heroic battle against melanoma.

Tom was born in Chicago, Illinois but grew up in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, FL. He graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School and Maharishi International University in Fairfield, Iowa before beginning a career in food services at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando.

Tom leaves behind his loving mother Jean – his rock, and family members Bob (Gail) Bulfin, John (Joey) Bulfin, Susan Bulfin, Colleen (Greg) Maloney and many admiring nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Dr. Matthew Bulfin and brother Jim.

He loved politics, baseball, tennis and the Miami Dolphins, but his real passion was music. Tom was both a musician and a music historian, spending hours playing the guitar with friends and discussing the lyrics of favorite bands such as the Kinks, the Who, and of course, the Beatles.

His friends and family brought him great joy and he loved spending time celebrating birthdays, holidays, reunions and other events.

Tom was a special friend to many and he will be sorely missed.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale on Friday, May 12th at 10 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Kalis-McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center.
