Obituary

Mrs. Katherine Whiting, age 90, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida died on Sunday, May 14, 2017.  Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Whiting who passed away March 22, 2016. Survived by brother, Stephen J. Kozeletz; sons, Paul Stephen Whiting, Jonathan Mark Whiting; daughter, Kathy Anne East; grandsons, Joseph Whiting, Logan Newell, Landon Newell, and Matthew East; greatgrandchildren, Hailee Byrne, Timothy East, McKensie Newell, Isabella Ely; beloved cat Luna; several nieces and nephews also survive.  Katherine served as Missionary President at the Hollywood Nazarene Church, served on the District Council for many years, attended a plethora of mission trips, traveling all over the world.  Her most beloved mission trip was "Operation Mary" where she would get clothes distributed to the orphans and spent time rocking children and telling stories so that the children would know what love and what Jesus was about.  A celebration of Katherines life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00am at Pompano Nazarene Church, 916 NE 4th Street, Pompano Beach, Florida 33060.  She was laid to rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the South Florida National Cemetery, next to her late husband, Warren.
