Catherine Grace Richards went to be with her Lord and family on March 5, 2017, her 91st birthday. She was born on March 5, 1926, the second of four children of William and Angelina Green. Raised in Yonkers, NY, she moved to Broward County in 1974, taking up residence in Deerfield Beach, where she was the owner/operator of Deerfield Beach Furniture n/k/a A Summer Place Consignments, for over thirty years. She is survived by her daughter, Drucilla Richards, her son, John Richards, grandchildren, Kelsey Richards, Jake Richards, Hudson Haskin, and Parker Haskin, ten nieces and nephews, including Jill Kendall (Richard), Katherine DeVonyar, Edwina DeVonyar, Harold Green (Armida) and Alice Regan (Billie), along with many grand nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her three siblings, Jane DeVonyar (Edwin), Harold Green, and Joseph Green. She leaves behind many beloved friends and neighbors, whose friendship she treasured and whose kindnesses were many. Cooking, reading, knitting, playing cards, especially when she won, tending her orchids, and shopping for the best deal ever were among her many passions. Her life and spirit will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9th at a 1:00 pm service at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 380 S. Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Woodlands at John Knox Village, 700 SW 4th Street, Pompano Beach, FL 33060 or Catholic Hospice: 14875 NW 77th Avenue, Suite 100, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
