Cremation Options

For over 100 years, our family has been helping families to honor their loved ones in a time of need. We have and always will be there every step of the way, from the initial call to as long as needed after the services are over. When the opportunity came to purchase a location in South Florida, we decided to bring the same call to service that we have been honored to offer to families during their most vulnerable and difficult times of their life. We decided to purchase the Kalis Funeral Home, that was established in 1959 in Wilton Manors, by the Kalis Family. We still operate at the original location, 2505 N. Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors. Since we are a family owned business we open our door to every family and invite anyone to stop by and meet us or let us answer any questions you may have.

There are many important decisions to be made during this sensitive time, which combine to create a personalized memorial ceremony which is a fitting tribute the life of their loved one. The primary decision is that of the means of disposition, whether that is to be burial or cremation. Once chosen quite infrequently, cremation is becoming a more commonly selected means of disposition. Kalis – McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center offers cremation with various supporting services, and a huge selection of urns.

When the method of cremation is chosen, the success of the funeral is directly connected to the supporting ceremonies, tributes or the many other services offered at Kalis – McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center to respect the memory of those who have passed. Contrary to popular perception, cremation does not restrict the degree to which a funeral service can be a full memorial experience. At Kalis – McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center, our charming chapel is just one option for the location at which we offer a range of services. Options include memorial and traditional services, viewing preceding cremation, scattering cremains and various mementos of remembrance. Throughout, Kalis – McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center will ensure that this occasion conveys the highest reverence.

Kalis – McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center offers a variety of cremation packages in different levels ranging from basic to lavish. Our experience has shown that these bundled services complement each other and offer a memorable occasion. In each service, we make every effort to honor the memory of the person while also considering the emotions of the family. In addition to service-oriented options, we also offer a diverse selection of urns in a range of materials, colors and styles.

Traditional Cremation

Traditional cremation includes initial transfer of deceased from place of death (within 15 mile radius), fiberboard container, embalming, rental casket, use of facilities and staff for visitation or service, basic services of staff, cremation fee, and white cardboard mailer box containing hard plastic container with numbered metal disk identifying created remains.

Cremation with a Memorial Service

Cremation with a memorial service includes initial transfer of deceased from place of death (within 15 mile radius), fiberboard container, refrigeration for 48 hours (required by Florida law, in lieu of embalming), basic services of staff, cremation fee, use of facilities and staff for memorial service, and white cardboard mailer box containing hard plastic container with numbered metal disk identifying created remains.

Direct Cremation

A direct cremation (without ceremony) includes initial transfer of deceased from place of death (within 15 mile radius), fiberboard container, refrigeration for 48 hours (required by Florida law, in lieu of embalming), basic services of staff, cremation fee, and white cardboard mailer box containing hard plastic container with numbered metal disk identifying created remains. We also offer aerial scattering of cremated remains at sea (at convenience of funeral home). In addition to service-oriented options, we also offer a diverse selection of urns in a range of materials, colors and styles.

Just as each life is unique, so too should each memorial ceremony. The success of a cremation is directly connected to the supporting ceremonies, tributes or other services we offer to honor and enhance the memorial of those who have passed. Contrary to popular perception, the option of cremation does not limit the degree to which a funeral ceremony can be a personalized.
